SessionRecap is a SaaS platform that generates quick and concise recaps of conference sessions from audio recordings provided by the user. These recaps include both audio summaries and written summaries that can be shared with event attendees to help them catch up on sessions they missed.
How fast are the recaps generated?
Recaps for sessions lasting an hour or more are generated in under 5 minutes. The service is designed to save you time and provide prompt post-event materials for your attendees.
What formats are included in the delivered recaps?
Each recap includes:
- Audio Summary: A concise, professionally synthesized recording of the session’s highlights.
- Written Summary: A textual summary that can be used as a description for the audio or standalone content in event apps or publications.
- Complete transcript: For convenience we also provide you with a complete text transcript of the session
How do I share the audio summaries with attendees?
Audio summaries can be embedded into event session pages using an iframe embed. This allows convenient listening directly from the event platform or app as well as your organization’s website as part of a blog post.
What are the use cases for the written summaries?
The written summaries can be used in:
- Event apps as session descriptions.
- Online publications or newsletters for post-event coverage.

Can SessionRecap handle long recordings?
Yes, SessionRecap is optimized for recordings of an hour or longer. However, shorter recordings can also be processed, with recaps generated proportionally faster.
What if there is more than one speaker?
Not a problem, SessionRecap’s engine is extremely good a picking up names and associated voices on the recording for each presenter. The generated SessionRecap will take account of these for an impeccable delivery.
What file formats are supported for audio uploads?
We support common audio file formats, including MP3, WAV, and M4A. If you encounter a format compatibility issue, feel free to contact our support team.
I only have video recordings, will it work?
Right now, SessionRecap only accepts audio files for processing. That being said, if you have only video recordings it isn’t a problem. There are several tools online that can easily extract audio from a video file (MP4, MKV, MOV, etc.) for you. The audio file these tools offer can then be uploaded back to SessionRecap. (Try Restream Audio Extractor)
My audio files is too large for upload, can I compress it?
No worries, compression does not impact SessionRecap’s capabilities at generating accurate audio recaps for your event’s sessions.
If the file is too large for upload, we recommend you us the Audio Compressor tool by FreeConvert to shrink your file to the target file size.
Is the content created by SessionRecap editable?
Yes! Written summaries are editable. After generation, you can review and tweak the content to better match your event’s tone or messaging before publishing.
We are working on making the Written transcripts also editable so that you can re-submit a recap for re-processing following corrections you made for things we would have gotten wrong on the first try.
Is SessionRecap suitable for hybrid or virtual events?
